In the early seventies some people from Basgo formed a drama club which later on became the Basgo welfare Committee who carries the conservation work of the historical and Cultural heritage of Basgo which are in dire need of conservation due to decay. The main aims and objective of the Basgo Welfare Committee are to preserve the cultural and traditional heritage of Basgo which are facing threat of extinction in the present era of unimaginative transitional development and modernity.
